Banks Drive, Bedfordshire
The design requirements of the site were to consist of a new set of offices, a set of apartments and some housing.
The site sits within a recent residential development, which was designed to be of a traditional character.
Our concept provided an apartment building presented in the form of a larger manor house, with wings and other ancillary buildings on the site presenting the idea of traditional coach houses and alike. This design approach complemented the more traditional aspects of the surrounding buildings.
Acting on behalf of the client, we undertook a feasibility exercise for the site and then developed designs suitable for a full planning application – which was submitted to Central Bedfordshire Council and dealt with under Delegated Powers.
The construction of the buildings has recently been completed, with the client moving back into their office, with the mews houses and apartments being let as a part of the client’s property portfolio.
