Architect returns to view progress on airfield hangar

Architect Alex Darby, who works in our St Neots office, returned recently to see an aircraft hangar he designed.

The hangar for aircraft maintenance specialists IAE has been operating for some time at Little Staughton airfield, near Bedford.

However, for Mr Darby, on passing by, he made a point of reviewing the project - taking a look at the hangar which is now a reality.

Back in 2020, our Architecture & Planning team in St Neots secured full planning permission on behalf of a long-standing client. The hangar design was required to the specification of the prominent aircraft and repair tenant, who was keen to relocate their expanding operation to the airfield.

Following a thorough analysis of the site, Simon Tindle, Divisional Partner, was able to advise on overcoming several significant planning constraints and approval was later granted by Huntingdonshire Council.

"I was passing by Little Staughton airfield which presented a great opportunity to stop in to see IAE's new hangar, as designed by Brown&Co a year or so ago," said Mr Darby.
