James joined Brown&Co in 2008 after graduating from Harper Adams and he joined the Partnership in 2016.

The majority of James’ time is spent advising clients in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Northern England. James’ area of expertise includes the purchase and sale of farms & rural estates, valuation, estate management, landlord and tenant, compulsory purchase, planning & development and telecoms. Recently James has been involved in successful sale and lease negotiations relating to several significant renewable energy projects including Solar PV, battery storage, on shore wind and AD plants.

James is the chairman of the Brown&Co machinery auctions committee and has a keen eye on the second-hand machinery trade.

James is also member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
