Emily came to Brown&Co in 2025 following the merger with Adkin where she had been for 18 years. Having grown up in a family with strong farming connections, Emily first attended the University of Nottingham where she gained an honours degree in Geography before completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying with the University of Reading whilst at Adkin. She is married to an Agronomist and has two young children.
She undertakes a wide range of professional work, being highly experienced in rural property valuations including assessment of values for inheritance tax returns, stocktaking and transfer purposes. In addition, Emily manages large rural business sites and service charges having experience in commercial property management and lettings, and also prepares many short-term leases for individual sites.
Emily particularly specialises in Agri-Environmental schemes and grant funding having dealt with applications under Countryside Stewardship, Sustainable Farming Incentive and Farm Productivity Grants. She is well versed with the complexities of the RPA having been heavily involved in the Basic Payment Scheme and its predecessors! She has experience of large-scale complex applications of over 2,500 hectares and dealing with designations such as SSSI’s and Scheduled Monuments.
She is known for her attention to detail and drive to see matters all the way through to the end.
Emily is a qualified member of RICS, a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and a RICS Registered Valuer. She has been an Examiner for the CAAV since 2019 having previously been Tutorial Organiser for many years and until recently was Chairman for the Berks & Oxon Rural Valuers Association.
